Don’t just learn to cope with stress
Why learning to cope with stress is a bad idea. No one really wants to admit that they can’t cope. It’s like we have been convinced that stress is necessary in our lives, that it is something we must accept and learn to manage. But, wouldn’t it be better to get into the habit of letting go, and removing ourselves from situations that we find stressful? While we are well equipped to handle stress - our body is built to cope with moments of heightened fear and anxiety - it is a necessary survival mechanism.
